Ranking and Evaluation of 63 Research Institutes by ISC
Ranking and evaluation of research institutes has been done by ISC in 2022. In this ranking, the general criteria in the evaluation and ranking of research institutes are in 5 subject areas of research (with a weight of 25%), technology and innovation (with a weight of 35%), internationalization (with a weight of 10%), economic impact (with a weight of 20%) and social services, infrastructure and facilities (with a weight of 10%).
Each of these main criteria is divided into a number of main indicators and sub-indices, and the performance of the research institute is evaluated separately in each of them. Table 1 shows the weight of each of the main criteria.

The information needed to rank research institutes and research institutions related to the three-year performance of 1997-99 has been collected in three ways:
The research information that is collected by ISC ranking unit and has been collected through the research institutes’ self-declaration form, as well as some information that is provided through the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
In 2022 ranking, there were a total of 63 research institutes, and all of their information was reviewed and evaluated. Table 2 shows the number of research institutes in each subject area.

Research institutes art, humanities and social sciences
33 research institutes were present in this ranking in the field of arts, humanities and social sciences. Sport Sciences Research Institute of Iran (SSRI), Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (IranDoc) and Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research obtained the first to third ranks. Table 3 shows the complete results of this group of research institutes.
