As the only official scientometric authority in the country and as the third international citation database after Clarivate Analytics and Scopus, ISC evaluates the performance of journals based on analyzes and citation criteria and the journals with an impact factor in ISC-JCR Database.

In Table 1, the number of Iranian journals indexed in international citation databases (Web of Science, Scopus and ISC’s JCR) has been shown according to MSRT, MHME, IAU, etc.

In this journals’ database, the articles' network has been drawn based on the analysis of their references. In order to perform citation analysis, the publications that have a complete archive of the issues of the last two years (plus the year of calculating the impact factor) in ISC’s journals’ database have been counted. Identification and citation relationships between the articles published in them are analyzed and the impact factor of each publication is calculated based on the number of citations and the number of articles. Journals’ impact factor is a quantitative index that measures the impact of one publication on other publications and is used to evaluate, compare and rank scientific journals in different disciplines at the national level or to compare publications at the international level.

In the following, the journals in each subject area are given a descending order based on the distribution of their coefficient values’ influence and are placed in quartiles (Q1 to Q4). The first quarter (Q1) includes 25% of the journals in the relevant subject areas, which have the highest values of the impact factor and, as a result, the highest level of impact, compared to 75% of other publications in that field. In the same way, the fourth quartile (Q4) includes publications with the lowest degree of influence. It is obvious that the impact of publications in the fourth quartile is far greater than that of publications without an impact factor.
