557 Highly Cited Iranian Female Researchers Among the Highly Cited Researchers of The Country
According to the latest report of Islamic World Science and Technology Monitoring and Citation Institute (ISC), there are 557 highly cited Iranian female researchers among Iranian highly cited researchers, which constitute 12.75% of the highly cited researchers of the country.
The list of highly cited researchers announced every year according to the number of citations they have received in reliable citation databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and ISC, as well as some other research indicators.
In table number 1, the number of highly cited researchers among the top 10%, top 1%, top 2% (during their working period), top 2% in a year and ISC highly cited researchers, humanities, social sciences, art and architecture, as well as the share of female has been shown. According to Table 1, highly cited female researchers have the largest share of the top 2% in one-year researchers classification.

According to ISC latest report, among the top 1% researchers’ list (which was formed based on ESI database), there are 135 Iranian female researchers in 12 subject areas of agricultural sciences, clinical medicine, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, neuroscience and psychology, engineering, materials science, psychiatry/psychology, computer science, interdisciplinary, social science, and some have obtained the necessary points in several other ones.
ISC used the data indexed in the ISC database, identifies highly cited Iranian researchers in humanities, social sciences, arts and architecture.
46 female researchers in 13 subject areas of business, management and accounting, geographical sciences, psychology, social sciences, information science and epistemology, language and linguistics, educational sciences, economic sciences, sociology and political sciences, language and Literature, historical sciences, theology and Islamic studies and other areas got the necessary points.
