ISC released 2021 universities ranking by subject

After more than a decade of successfully conducting the national ranking universities and research institutes (as well as the ranking of world universities (ISCWUR)), ISC Department of Universities Ranking has ranked the universities of the world based (2021) on subject areas.

The first version of this ranking, named ISC World University Rankings by Subject, was published in 2019, and this year it has done this ranking for the third year in a row. The methodology and results of this ranking are given below.

The presence of 42 universities from Iran in ISC subject ranking 2021

There are 42 universities from Iran in ISC subject ranking 2021, which have been ranked in different subject areas. This is despite the fact that 39 universities from Iran were present in last year's ranking.

Malik Ashtar University of Technology, Shiraz University of Technology and Mohaghegh Ardabili University have appeared in natural sciences in this ranking for the first time.

In ISC 2021 subject ranking, the presence of the country's top universities in 6 out of 7 fields of natural sciences including: mathematics, computer and information sciences, physical sciences and astronomy, chemical sciences, earth and environmental sciences, and biological sciences.

Tehran University took the first rank (351-400) and Tarbiat Modares University won the second rank with 501-600.

Engineering and technology

In engineering and technology, a ranking has been made in 11 subject fields, and Iranian universities were present in all 11 subject fields, Tehran University rank 39 and Sharif University of Technology rank 201 and Tabriz University rank 213.

Medical and health sciences

In medical and health sciences, Tehran University of Medical Sciences rank 221, Shahid Beheshti Medical Sciences rank 301-350, Iran Medical Sciences and Mashhad Medical Sciences jointly rank 401-450.

Agricultural sciences

In agricultural sciences, Tehran University rank first, Shiraz University rank second, and Tarbiat Modares University rank third.

Social sciences

In social sciences, only Tehran University is present and it was ranked 401-450.

Humanities field

In humanities, only Tehran University has managed to get a rank of 501-600 and there is no university from Iran in any of these.
