ISC held the ‘7th International Virtual Workshop on ‘How to Index your Journal in ISC’
Eight Countries Participate
The 7th International Virtual Workshop on ‘How to Index your Journal in ISC & How to Enhance Journal’s Status in Universal Rankings’ has been held by Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) on June 15th, 2021 with the presence of Rectors and Presidents of Universities, Research and Technology Deputies of Universities, Editors-in-Chief of Scientific Journals, Heads of Libraries, and other interested in the Topic from 8 countries including Libya, India, Pakistan, Qatar, Iraq, Nigeria, Morroco and Iran.
This workshop provides a venue for stakeholders working in publication industry and education to enhance the status of scientific journals in ISC’s database and to ease their indexation in ISC. ISC intends to hold a virtual workshop for editors-in-chief and staff of journals indexed in ISC so as to make them acquainted with our journal indexing policy and criteria. This workshop will help primary list ISC journals to enter ISC’s waiting list as it can help journals in ISC’s waiting list to take steps such that they can enter Core List Journals or remain so if they are already there. Moreover, the stakeholders can share practices, ideas and resources.
The topics covered include, Introducing ISC’s services and databases, Introducing strategies and methods to preserve and enhance Journal’s Status in ISC EJCR and other universal ranking systems, Introducing the most influential journals in various fields, Tracking publication and citation patterns to aid strategy and policy decisions, and Supporting researchers’ long-term vision and keep them informed of the latest trends with a multifaceted analytics view.
This webinar has been mostly focused on, a brief history of ISC and its foundation, an introduction to ISC’s services and databases, an Introduction to strategies and Methods, an Introduction to DOR, an Introduction to Fast XML Uploading System, Negotiation on Journals’ Challenges in JCR and XML Uploading System.
