Oman Ready to engage in Scientic ties with ISC

Following the first ISC Executive Committee members’ meeting in June, ISC planned for the participation of all higher education ministers of Islamic countries for mutual interaction and cooperation and to strengthen the scientific network between OIC universities and scholars.

For this reason, ISC president, Dr. M. J. Dehghani planned a trip to Oman Since one of ISC EC members is from this OIC member state.

“The need to pay attention to and coordinate the implementation of these programs with the member countries is inevitable” said Dehghani, while in this regard, he visited Oman Higher Education minister, Dr. Rawya Saud Al Busaidi in Muscat, , to report on ISC mission, role and areas of activities as a citation database.

Omani Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Rawya Saud Al Busaidi, mentioned the general plans of the Omani higher education system, such as the attention of the universities to the needs of industry and research.

The comprehensive plan for the establishment of a university campus in Oman, as well as the city of health and medicine, and the presence of all the necessary facilities were the future plans for this project.

Dehghani has offered for the possible Oman interaction and collaboration with ISC in order to promote the scientific ranking of Omani universities and research centers, introducing Omani scholars to the international community, and hold scientific and research workshops for Scientometrics.
